We welcome Brenda Sites with Missouri Safe at Home
Safe at Home is an address confidentiality program administered through Missouri Secretary of State Denny Hoskins’ office. The program helps survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, rape, human trafficking, stalking, or other crimes, in their efforts to protect their location. Safe at Home participants are authorized to use a designated substitute address on new public records created by government agencies and the courts. These services help keep survivors’ confidential addresses out of the hands of their assailants. Since the Safe at Home law was enacted in 2007, the program has served over 12,000 crime victims.
Meet our guest speaker:
Brenda Sites is the manager of the statewide Safe at Home program and has led the program since its launch in 2007. Brenda provides daily, hands-on support for the program and its participants, as well as training throughout the state for victim advocates, government staff, law enforcement, and community agencies. She holds a Bachelor of Social Work from Columbia College and a Master of Social Work from the University of Missouri – Columbia. Brenda has collaborated with colleagues from all over the United States through the National Association of Confidential Address Programs, and recently completed 4 years as the association’s Board President.
